Met Council’s Home Services helps the most vulnerable in our community live in their homes with safety, dignity and comfort. For Holocaust survivors living in unsafe communities, our Handyman service will replace their door locks. For seniors who need a grab bar in their shower to protect themselves from falling, Project Metropair will install one free of charge.
Project Metropair: Keeping Seniors Safe at Home
Project Metropair makes home visits to people who need minor home repairs for safety and security. Each year, we help more than 4,000 people remain independent.
- In an average month, our handymen provide about 620 hours of repairs.
- 1,700 frail seniors and Holocaust survivors a year receive services to make their homes or apartments safer and more secure
