Met Council is a leader in on-site facilitated enrollment in Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly known as food stamps) enrollment throughout New York City. Through our partnership with the New York City Human Resources Administration and community-based organizations, Met Council has fostered a network to help New Yorkers gain efficient access to public benefits.

Our Solutions:

Through community outreach and engagement, Met Council informs New Yorkers in need of available public benefits. Located throughout the five boroughs, SNAP specialists are available to provide:

Screening
- 10 minute process to determine eligibility

Navigation
- Assistance in document preparation
- Appointment scheduling

Enrollment & Recertification
- One-on-one guidance and enrollment

Follow-Up
- Individualized case assistance

Our Impact:

In FY16, Met Council provided:

5,513 familes assisted with SNAP enrollment and recertification

5,584 New Yorkers reached through educational events
