Construction is underway for Council Towers VI, a 78-unit residence for low-income senior citizens located at 71st Avenue between Kissena and Parsons Boulevards in the Electchester area of Queens. This residence will provide low-income seniors with affordable rent, enabling them to use their limited income for food and medicine.

The site land has been provided by the New York City Housing Authority. Funding was provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the NYC Housing Development Corporation, the NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development, and the Federal home Loan Bank Board of New York with federal low-income housing tax credits through the Enterprise Foundation.

Applications will be available this month.
